Trials started testing for disease and deterioration in stored cros of onions.  We're moving on to potatoes next year.  By installing an automatic real-time monitor in closed barns, our Barn Montor will sample the air to check for Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) in the air which have been created by the disease or rot occurring in the crop.  Once detected, the monitor automatically alerts the farmer via his phone or computer so he can act to prevent losses.
